Question 7
Looking back from my first attempt to make a Magazine cover and Content page i think i have improved and looked at my mistakes.
My main targets for my main magazine was
1. have a varity of picture from different shots and angles
2. have a better structure of the magazine
I think that my structure has mass-ivy Improved as my Music magazine looks much better, interesting and best of all look some time has been put into it. My only problem would the shots as they are regular and are only headshots.
Again like my Cover, it looks much more interesting having a better detail in each page i have have marked out, having more than one color on the page and also having a bit more structure. Although i think that the shots used in the school magazine are a bit better using angling but using an high angle picture with the character "Mad Jack" could look a bit stupid
British Film
British films in recent years have become much more popular, however some have debated what makes a british or how british does a film need to be.
For example Kickass, is a british film, it was filmed in Britain, the money is british from a company called Marv Films and the director Matthew de Vere Drummond too is british however not all the actors are british such as christopher Charles Mintz,Chloƫ Grace Moretz and Nicolas Cage and some of the set as well. which many can agree makes it a british film, however films like Gravity can be questionable.
For most of the main parts of making of the film is actually British such as the actors, the set and the writers are American however the soundtrack composed by Steven Price, a studio that helped with the production of the film "Heyday films" and the producer Alfonso Cuaron is British.
So films without a doubt is British films such as Shaun of the dead. as all parts of it are all British such as the Actors (Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kate Ashfield), Money(Big Talk Productions, Working Title Film), Set(filmed entirely in London), Director (Edgar Wright)

Question 6
I used a arge range of different Programs to create my Music Magazine such as:
Photoshop: I used Photoshop in making my Music Magazine. It was at the start very difficult as I had never used photoshop and with the different versions I had seen it became even confusing, however over time i got better being able to crop, change color of images, understand layering and a basic use of the different versions it's self.
Prezi: This was used when I was answering my question 2 and 4. although I had never used this program I got use to it really quickly, and found that was something I plan to use maybe in the future
with its simple timeline system and ability to make presentations more interesting to look at.
Powtoons: This was a program that had recently come out, it was sometime that when i played around with got the hang of it making little avatars to be a kind of presenter, the simple timeline like wiht prezi and the use of much more i haven't even tried yet.
Slideshare: I used Slideshare for my Question. I found that there wasn't really much to this program sine it was just a way to make a slideshow for with images like with powerpoint, however I found that it was much better to use as a presentation than powerpoint but I would prefer
Powerpoint.Powerpoint and Publisher : I used powerpoint for my question 3 like i say up above and Publisher for question 5. i have always been able to use powerpoint with ease, it's always something i have used since the 2002 version. Same with Publisher which was something I never really used but from time to time, got better.

I used Facebook to get my votes
most of the people who i had asked with 7 votes said that they liked Distortion so that was the Name i had chose.

I when I tried to add the title to my music magazine, I found some problems with the Dafont.com that I originally chose, not to mention that I had to change the colour of them to white because my background was black, which I had no idea of what to do so I later on decided I would just use a font on Photoshop.
I used this font because I wanted my magazine to have Gothic/ Rebel tone as it twists and odd shaped which is kind of similar to Kerrang magazine, and wanted it to draw my audience.

Band name #1
I been recently doing some drawings for my covers logo however I changed my mind instead to just do one for the band that is the main focus of my magazine cover. its honestly didn't come out the way I wanted it but thought for the time being i should add it regardless.
I thought maybe I should add a bit more colour to my cover as the only many colours were white and Black.
Band name #2 colors
I have recently made some improvement to my magazine cover by adding more effects to my pictures, redoing my drawing of the main band on my cover "the lost"
I decided to change this as the 3-D effects on "TH" because 1. its not well used as it makes no sense on what view its on, 2. it is too blockly and 3. it doesn't look to good to look at, along with this the choice of colours i used i think were too bright and felt that it needed a darker more serious tone.
This is the current Logo for the band on my magazine cover which i think is a masive improvment as it uses more serious colours like red and black, is no longer 3-D as i thought that adding 3-d was pointless and that its appeals to my audience as it has a more gothic and more rebelly look shown by the different sizes and the sharpness of the letters

Cover Editing
I made sure that my background would be easy to Photoshop so I chose a white bricked wall. I also want to have a gothic look to my cover to appeal to my audience, so I made my models have flashlights to put some shadowing on their face.
This was when I cut out the brick background you see above, I also added effect to the photo to make the shadows stronger. it also removed the tie which I forget to remove.
like the first one I removed the background. however found there was some problem with this models hair unlike the other one as he wore a hood, along with this the same effect I used on the first model didn't have the same effect so I decided to just make him black and white.
besides the fact I just need to find a good equal size for both picture I think it suits the cover very well thanks to the background being black which helps to appeal to my audience.

Music cover draft 1
I have done a lot of things so far with my music cover such as:
He has to me to fix the dead space within the two people, the fact you can see their in school uniform( something i was planing to fix anyway) and on a personal comment i feel that the name in the middle could have been better for there is no real structure like the "TH" are next to each other but its 3-d in different places and that the outline of everything over all looks more blockly then rough which is the look i wanted.
so what i will improve on.
- started with what name to chose "distortion"
- add my pictures to my cover
- done art work for the band name.

- improve on "the lost" art
- and create a much better plan then i made before

Gratification Theory
In today's lesson we looked at uses and gratification theory. we used the film "SKET" as an example to analysis the poster. the uses of the colour pink tells us that it is a film targeted to women, the slogan with is "Man's world sisters' hood" with again tells the targeted audience and also the Aged target as well. The uses of the shot of the five girls acting violent with pipes and bricks shows that the film wants to contradicts the stereotypes of girls and women as women are.
we then looked at our main objective which was what is Uses and Gratification theory?
which is the understanding of why people look and seek out a specific media such as magazines like
"Take a break" most of their readers will be women and "Men's heath" where most of their readers will be Men.

School magazine Feedback
The feedback i got about my collage magazine cover wasn't to good.
i was told that i didn't have much structure and that what i did was really basic, for example the positioning of my front cover picture wasn't placed very well and said that i needed to have put it in the middle. that the font sizes wasn't to good as my date was larger than my normal text and there was no need to underline the title. however he said that my choice of colour was every good along with the front cover picture its self as its shows he has pride in his college and with himself.
the feedback with my content's page while it was better than my cover wasn't to good either as it is not interesting, two of the images were not to good and could have been of better quality as the second picture is too dark to see and the bottom picture wasn't a very good exmaple of art and long with that there was no Ict picture with is a subject i mention a lot. while there are many problems with it there is some good as the top picture not only was good because of the angle but also looks good to look at and the font is controlled well.
the targets i have made for my next magazine is to:
1. have a varity of picture from different shots and angles
2. have a better struture of the magazine

Teen movies
Adulthood is a 2008 British drama film. It was
directed and written by Noel Clarke, who also stars as the protagonist, Sam
Peel. Adulthood is a sequel to the 2006 film Kidulthood, which Clarke also
wrote, and depicts the main character Peel's experiences after he is released
from jail. The film got many positive reviews. It grossed £1,203,319 at the UK
Box Office during its opening weekend (currently 3,347,811) ranking above The Incredible
Hulk, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Sex and the City.
The studios that worked on this film were Limelight and Cipher films.
In Adulthood teenagers are shown to be much
seriously as the film has a lot of violent, teen pregnant, drugs and sex. This
is different to the other two movies as they are more comedic and are less
stereotypical than these only showing things like Boys having sex on their mind
all the time and teenagers being depressed.
The film poster uses colours of black, red and
brown which are more serious colours which is also shown by the actors staying
in a more ghetto fashion, they are wearing mostly hoodies and tracksuits which
is relating to the time to gangster culture.
Submarine is a 2010 British coming-of-age
comedy-drama film adapted from the 2008 novel of the same name by Joe
Dunthorne. The film was written and directed by Richard Ayoade, and starred
Craig Roberts, Yasmin Paige, Sally Hawkins, Noah Taylor and Paddy Considine.
Submarine is Ayoade's directorial debut and was on a budget of £1.2 million the
film got very positive reviews and got in box office of £2.03 million. The
studios that worked with this film were film 4 productions, film agency of
wales, red hour films and warp films.

Submarine is a mixture of adulthood and the
Inbetweeners movie as the movie has some serious moments along with some
comedic ones as well, the comedy comes from the fact Oliver is an odd teenager
who doesn’t want to fit in with society but wants to understand it which is
similar to Inbetweeners movie but Inbetweeners is more childish.
The colours used are blue, white, yellow, black and
red. Most of the colours are used well to represent something such as the blue
on one half of the poster to show water referring to the title and Black on the
character to show his gothic clothing and personality.
The Inbetweeners Movie is a 2014 British
coming-of-age comedy film based on the E4 sitcom The Inbetweeners, written by
series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris and directed by Ben Palmer. The
film follows the misadventures of a group of teenage friends on holiday in
Crete after the end of their final year at school together, and currently
serves as an ending to the TV series. It stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James
Buckley and Blake Harrison. The film was released on 06 August 2014 in the UK
and Ireland. Had a budget of £ 3.5 million and made £57,699,138 in box office.
The studios that worked with this film were film 4 productions, young films and
bwark productions.
The Inbetweeners movie lacks any real seriousness
but is full of comedy so is more contrasting with adulthood than submarine
The colours used here are many bright colours like
red, white, blue, yellow, pink and purple. This is done to show the party
environment that these characters are in.
For this film there is a slogan used “this summer
four boys become men” this referring to the characters having sex.
